If you want the animals in the:

• Morning:  Place the animal delivery request by 2:00 p.m.

• Afternoon:  Place the animal delivery request by 9:00 a.m.

PRECAUTIONS:  All rabbits are transported within the University must be transported in solid bottom shipping containers similar to the ones used by the airlines.  The container must be sanitizable or disposable and must have no floor openings or crevices that may catch a rabbit's foot and cause injury.

Intubated and / or anesthetized animals are the responsibility of the investigator until they are extubated and achieve sternal recumbancy.

Transportation of large animals may require special equipment and additional labor costs.  Contact DLAR at (919) 684-5567 when planning studies that will use swine or other species (larger than 50 pounds).
